STAT 230 – Course Introduction

Active Learning

  • I expect you to actively participate in class (that does not mean you have to speak to the entire group)
  • Lots of hands-on activities and discussions
  • We will be using Gradescope (more on this later) to submit in-class work and for homework assignments

Course Overview

Understanding data is the primary focus of this course with emphasis on statistical techniques for gathering, analyzing, summarizing and communicating the results of these analyses.

Statistical software is used.

In my sections that means we will be coding in R.
